Registration is OPEN for our first round of Hawken Youth Athletics Spring Sports and programs are starting soon! 

We are excited to offer a variety of dynamic and engaging athletic programs for students in grades K-6. Whether your child is looking to build new skills, stay active, or just have fun with friends, our spring sports offerings provide the perfect opportunity to grow and compete in a supportive environment.

Each of these programs will start in the week or two following Spring Break (weeks of March 31st or April 7th). We will have a second round of Spring Sports offerings that will start the end of April and run through May that will be released in March.

CAMPS AND CLINICS

Youth Soccer - Instructional (K-1 Boys and Girls)*

Coach Adam Kahn and his team of Soccer instructors offer a fun and introductory Soccer experience for our youngest student-athletes. Participants will learn the basics of foot skills, passing, shooting, and an overall introduction to the game of Soccer. Sessions will be in the Multi-Purpose Room on the Lyndhurst Campus and may utilize the outdoor Soccer fields when weather and availability permits. 

Dates: Mondays from April 14th through May 19th (Excludes 4/21)

Times: 5:30-6:30pm

Location: Lyndhurst Campus Multi-Purpose Room (May be outside if weather permits)

Cost: $50

Fall Golf Clinic (1st-6th Grade Boys and Girls)

Dates: Wednesdays and Thursdays. Week of April 14th through Week of May 19th

  • Sessions for grades 4-6 will be on Wednesdays

    • We are working on a plan for any 6th graders who will miss one week due to the Doorways trip at the end of April. Please reach out if your student will be impacted by this and is interested in Golf.

  • Sessions for grades 1-3 will be on Thursdays

Times: 3:30-5pm

Location: The Clubhouse (Beachwood)

  • Students will be bussed from Hawken to the Golf location, however this is a one way bus trip. Parents are responsible for pickup on location at 5pm

Running Club (2nd-5th Grade Boys and Girls)

The Hawken Youth Running Club is a fun and active way for boys and girls in grades 2-5 to explore the sport of running! Through engaging games and activities, students will build confidence, stay active, and develop a love for running with their classmates in a supportive and encouraging environment. This program focuses on fundamental skills and basic techniques central to the sport of running and will give students a head start toward fostering lifelong healthy habits. Whether your child is new to running or already enjoys it, all experience levels are welcome. Come run with us and discover the joy of movement!

 

Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays - Week of April 7th through Week of May 12

Times: 3-4:15pm (Pickup from 4:15-4:30)

Location: Lyndhurst Outdoor Athletic Areas

Cost: $125

Youth/Middle School Softball Clinic

Join the Hawken Varsity Softball coaches and players for this FREE six-week clinic on Saturdays in the Spring. Whether new to the game or an experienced player, these clinics will give softball players in grades 4-8 the opportunity to meet and work with the high school coaches and engage with the Varsity Softball team in a fun and engaging environment. Players will be split into age and skill appropriate groups

Dates: Saturdays from April 12th through May 17th 

Times: 1-2:30pm

Location: Gates Mills Campus Outdoor Facilities

  • Most dates will be on the Turf Softball Field/Multipurpose Field. 4/19 and 4/26 will be in other locations on campus due to scheduling conflicts. Specifics will follow. 

Cost: FREE

Youth Basketball Skills and Shooting Clinic (Boys and Girls, Grades 3-8)

Join us this Spring for our newly developed Spring Basketball Skills and Shooting Clinic on the Lyndhurst Campus. Sessions will include instruction from Hawken Boys and Girls Middle School coaches with appearances by each High School coaching staff, as well as professional area skills and shooting trainers. Take this opportunity to work with our elite-level coaching staff and community partners to stay sharp and improve your skills in the off-season. 

Dates: Mondays and Wednesdays from April 7th through May 14th (Excludes 4/21 and 5/5)

Times: 6:30-7:30pm

Location: Lyndhurst Campus - Ingalls Gymnasium

Cost: $150

Instructors: Middle School Coaching Staffs and Area Skills and Shooting Coaches

Registration Deadline: April 4th, 2025

Maximum Capacity: 30

“Little Hawks” Basketball Clinic (Boys and Girls, Grades K-3)

Join us for the Spring session of “Little Hawks” Basketball on the Lyndhurst Campus this Spring. Sessions will include instruction from Hawken Boys and Girls Middle School coaches with appearances by each High School coaching staff, as well as professional area skills and shooting trainers. This clinic is great for all skill and experience levels, whether just learning the game or getting ready to take your game to the next level.

Dates: Saturdays from April 12th through May 10th

Times: 2-3pm

Location: Lyndhurst Campus - Ingalls Gymnasium

Cost: $100

Instructors: Middle School Coaching Staffs and Area Skills and Shooting Coaches

LEAGUE PLAY

Soccer - Competitive (Grades K-3 Boys and Girls)

 

Our Competitive/League Play Soccer option offers a more competitive version of our introductory/instructional Soccer program. Players will be split into teams by grade level (K/1 and 2/3) and will play in the South-Euclid/Lyndhurst Soccer League (SELSC). Teams will practice and play together throughout the season. 

Dates: 

  • Practices - Wednesdays 5:30-6:30pm beginning April 2nd

  • Games - Saturday mornings from 4/12-5/31.

  • Full game schedule will be released and sent to participants when we have it from the league

Location: Lyndhurst Soccer Field (Practices), Desan Park (Games)

 

Cost: $120 

Program Directors/Coaches: Adam Kahn, Meg Hackett/Volunteer Parents 

  • Teams are capped at 9 players for K/1 and 8 players for 2/3. We will field as many teams as we have coaches to oversee. The more volunteer parent coaches we have, the more teams we will be able to the field!

Volleyball - (Grades 3-6 Girls)

Our Youth Volleyball teams offer new players the opportunity to try the sport and more experienced players to hone their skills through competition and league play against area schools and communities in the Kenston Community Recreation League. Teams will practice twice per week and have games on the weekends in April and May. 

Dates: 

  • Practices - Beginning Week of March 31st

    • 5th/6th Grade - Mondays and Fridays 3:15-4:30

    • 3rd/4th Grade - Tuesdays and Thursdays 3-4:30

  • Games - Weekends beginning April 5th

    • Full game schedule will be released and sent to participants when we have it from the league

 

Location: Practices - Ingalls Gym (Lyndhurst), Games - Kenston School District

 

Cost: $150

Program Directors/Coaches: 

5th/6th Grade -, Maria Echeverria (MS Head Coach)

3rd/4th Grade -  Gina Catania (HS Assistant Coach)

  • Ideal numbers are 9-10 players per team. We will field as many teams as we have coaches to oversee and players to support. We will likely have enough players for two 5th/6th Grade teams, but need a second volunteer coach to accommodate this.
