MULTIPURPOSE FIELD

In addition to the stadium turf field, Hawken’s athletic complex features an innovative turf facility that is home to softball, baseball, soccer, field hockey, and lacrosse. The multipurpose field was originally built alongside Walton Stadium in 2007; it was expanded and refurbished in the spring of 2022. The multipurpose field features a full-size baseball field, and a separate softball field. Each field has their own set of dugouts, and a portable outfield fence is installed for home softball games. All aspects of the softball and baseball fields, including the infield, mounds, and plate areas are 100% artificial turf. This allows for a true playing surface throughout, and perhaps most importantly allows for our teams to get more games played in a typical Ohio wet spring season. 

The multipurpose fields also features a full-size soccer field. Being outside the confines of a football stadium and track, its width of 70 yards and lack of football markings make it, we believe, one of the best high school soccer fields in the state.
