Tracy Cook Luckey was a freestyle stalwart as a three-time individual state champion in the Hawken Girls Swimming & Diving program in the early 1990s. As a freshman, she won the 100 freestyle state title and was a member of the 5th place 400 free relay team, catapulting the Hawks to the 1990 team state championship. She backed that effort up the following year, winning the state title as a sophomore in the 200 freestyle and finishing second in the 100 freestyle. She was truly dominant as a senior, willing the Hawks to a third-place team finish by winning the 200 freestyle, finishing second in the 500 freestyle, and leading the 200 freestyle relay to a third-place finish. She was a three-time High School All-American and went on to swim at Indiana University, where she was Academic All-Big Ten.
