Peter Henkel was a standout four-sport athlete at Hawken in the early '80s. He was a two-time All-State quarterback selection in football and led the Hawks to a combined 18-1 record in his junior and senior years. As a junior, he was named Cleveland Plain-Dealer?s Offensive Most Valuable Player, led the Cleveland area in passing yards, and finished his Hawken career as the leader in most passing categories. He was a three-time letter winner in baseball as a shortstop and pitcher and team MVP. He earned three varsity letters in swimming and one in basketball. Peter was recruited to play both football and baseball at Yale University, but those pursuits were impacted by a torn ACL injury during his senior year at Hawken. Peter joins his brother, David ?88, in the Hawken Athletics Hall of Fame.
