Bio
Frank Brandt played many roles during his 40-year career at Hawken and left an indelible mark on Hawken Athletics and the community. He coached football at Hawken for over four decades, as the head coach in the late 60s and then as an assistant in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. As the head coach, he brought the program to a new level, guiding the 1968 team to an 8-1 record. His leadership was noted through his knowledge of the game, his strong work ethic, his care and concern for the student-athletes and assistant coaches, and his commitment to diversity and inclusion. Frank also connected countless students to Hawken as the director of admissions and financial assistance in addition to serving as the department chair and a teacher in the Math Department. He was the director of summer programs and held countless other leadership positions.
Frank is the proud father of four Hawken graduates – Amy ’82, Peter ’85, Aaron ’86, and Brady ’89. He is currently retired and resides in South Euclid, OH, where he enjoys watching his three Hawken grandchildren – Lucas ’24, Tanner ’28, and Annalise ’30 – playing on Hawken teams and in other activities.
