Crile Hart is a Hawken lifer who redefined excellence in her swim career at Hawken and beyond. She is a four-time state champion in the 200 individual medley, the first swimmer ever (among boys and girls) to sweep that event all four years. She also still holds the school and state record in the 200 IM and is the first-ever female in Ohio to go sub two-minutes, accomplishing the feat at the 2017 state meet. In addition, she is a state champion in the 100 breaststroke (2015) and 100 backstroke (2017); led state championship efforts in the 200 medley relay in 2015, 2016, and 2017; and broke the 400 freestyle relay state record in 2016. Crile went on to swim at Kenyon College, where she won 14 national titles (8 individual and 6 relay) and was a 28-time All-American. She joins her mother, Jane Esselstyn ?83, in the Hawken Athletics Hall of Fame.
