CAMPS AND CLINICS

Wrestling Clinics (Grades 1-8 Boys and Girls)

Join Hawken Youth Wrestling Coach Seth King as well as members of the Varsity staff and HS wrestling team for this one hour Fall Wrestling Clinic on Tuesdays in October. These sessions are open to wrestlers of all skill and experience levels in grades 1-8 and offer the perfect opportunity for beginners to learn the sport and for more experienced wrestlers to prepare for their upcoming Winter season. Sessions will be in the Multi-Purpose Room on the Lyndhurst Campus.

Dates: Tuesdays in October - 10/1, 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 10/29

Times: 5-6pm

Location: Multipurpose Room (Lyndhurst)

Cost: $50

Youth Soccer - Instructional (K-3 Boys and Girls)*

Coach Adam Kahn and his team of Soccer instructors offer a fun and introductory Soccer experience for our youngest student-athletes. Participants will learn the basics of foot skills, passing, shooting, and an overall introduction to the game of Soccer. Sessions will be in the Multi-Purpose Room on the Lyndhurst Campus and may utilize the outdoor Soccer fields when weather and availability permits. 

Dates: Mondays from September 9th through November 4th (Excludes 10/14)

Times: 5:30-6:30pm

Location: Lyndhurst Campus Multi-Purpose Room (May be outside if weather permits)

Cost: $80

Fall Golf Clinic (1st-8th Grade Boys and Girls)

Join Matt and Jen Creech (Hawken Varsity Girls Golf Coach) and their team of PGA Instructors at Tanglewood Golf Club and the Golf Dome in Chagrin Falls for six-weeks of Golf Lessons from the week of September 9th through the week of October 14th. Our September dates will be at Tanglewood Golf Club and will feature an outdoor driving range as well as chipping and putting. Our October dates will be at the Golf Dome Indoor Driving Range. 

Dates: Week of September 9th - Week of October 14th

  • Students will be divided into age-appropriate groups on Tuesdays and Thursdays depending on enrollment. The younger group (likely grades 1-3) will be on Tuesdays and the older group (likely grades 4-8) will be on Thursdays, but this is tentative and subject to change

  • Exact details on student grouping and confirmation of days of the week will be sent out by September 2nd.

Times: 3:45-5pm

  • Students will be bussed from Hawken to the Golf location, however this is a one way bus trip. Parents are responsible for pickup on location at 5pm

Basketball Clinics

Hawken Basketball Clinics are run by our Varsity coaching staffs and players and are a great way to work on skills while getting to know the coaches, players, and programs. These camps run biweekly and are available for registration for five weekday sessions, five weekend sessions, or all ten sessions at a discounted rate. Each session will include skill work, team and program building activities, and competition amongst peers in a fun and engaging environment. 

Girls Basketball Clinic (Grades 4-8 Girls)

Dates: Thursdays - 9/5, 9/12, 9/19, 9/26, 10/3 

  • Saturdays - 9/7, 9/14, 9/21, 9/28, 10/5

Times: Thursdays from 6-7:30pm

  •  Saturdays from 12-1:30pm

Location: Ingalls Gym (Lyndhurst)

Cost: $150 or one day (All Thursdays or All Saturdays); $250 for all 10 sessions

Little Hawks Basketball (Grades K-3 Boys and Girls)

Little Hawks Basketball is run by Head Girls Varsity Coach Jamee Gerrick and his staff. This clinic is geared toward introducing the game of basketball to our youngest athletes in a fun and engaging environment. Athletes will learn the fundamentals of basketball through instruction, drills, and games as the younger athletes learn the game and the older athletes prepare for competitive basketball at the next level. 

Dates: Saturdays - 9/7, 9/14, 9/21, 9/28, 10/5

Times: 11am-12pm

Location: Ingalls Gym (Lyndhurst)

Cost: $100

Boys Basketball

Youth Camps and Clinics are TBD at this time. Please look for more information over the Summer. 

 

 

LEAGUE PLAY

Youth Soccer - Competitive (Grades K-3 Boys and Girls)

Our Competitive/League Play Soccer option offers a more competitive version of our introductory/instruction Soccer listed above. Players will be split into teams by grade level (K/1 and 2/3) and will play in the South-Euclid/Lyndhurst Soccer League. Teams will practice and play together throughout the season (schedules TBD - some preliminary timelines below) 

**We are looking for volunteer parent coaches for these teams. We will field as many teams that are are able to have players and coaches for. If you are interested in helping coach your child’s team, please contact Joe Dianetti at joe.dianetti@hawken.edu. **

Dates: 

  • One Practice Per Week beginning the week of August 19th or 26th (depending on the release of the league schedule)

  • Games on weekends from late-August through mid-October

  • Practice and Game schedule will be released in August

Location: Lyndhurst Soccer Field

Cost: $120 (includes $40 uniform fee, which player gets to keep)

Field Hockey (4th-6th Grade Girls) 

Fall Field Hockey is open to girls in grades 4-6 and competes against area youth programs. This program is our first competitive offering in Field Hockey and introduces the skills and gameplay format of the sport. Coached by Hawken Middle School Field Hockey Coach, Alice Atalanta, this program is the first step to prepare players for interscholastic Field Hockey competition at the Middle School and High School level. 

Dates: 

  • Two Practices Per Week beginning the week of September 9th

  • Games on weekends from mid–September through mid-October

  • Practice and Game schedule will be released in August

Times: 5:30-6:30pm

Location: Lyndhurst Field Hockey Field 

Cost: $150

Youth Football (Grades 1-6 Boys and Girls)

Our Youth Football program is designed to introduce athletes to the game of football in a safe, positive environment. Flag Football is for grades 1-4 (pending the availability to field a team at the 1st/2nd grade level) and introduces the rules, skills, and competitive elements of the game in a non-contact atmosphere. Rookie Tackle begins in 5th and 6th grade and is fully padded, tackle football with modified rules to keep the game safe and instructional. The emphasis for our Youth Football program as whole is to teach the game of football in a safe and long-term sustainable manner.

Teams compete as part of the Chagrin Valley Conference Youth Football League, sponsored by the CVC and Cleveland Browns Youth Football. 

  • Rookie Tackle (Grades 5/6)

  • Flag Football (Grades 1/2, 3/4)*

    • *Grades 1/2 is a newly formed division that we will only field if we have enough players sign up.

    • We are still looking for coaches for both of these groups for the Fall. If you or someone you know is interested in helping out, please contact Joe Dianetti at joe.dianetti@hawken.edu.

  • Practices will begin the week of August 26th. Practices days and times will be communicated when we get closer to the season and confirm coach and field availability. 

  • Games are on Sunday mornings
