Bio

Welcome to our new full-time Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach and Human Performance Instructor, Clayton Ivie. Born and raised just outside of St. Louis, Missouri, Clayton is joining our Strength Department and Upper School Human Performance team. Coach Ivie brings a wealth of knowledge in exercise physiology as he spent a bulk of his time at Mizzou as an Undergraduate Research Fellow. He brings a broad range of experience to our strength department working with athletes and teams at the collegiate and high school levels, including interning at Auburn University and working as a performance coach at the Parisi Speed School in Columbia, Missouri. In his time as a sports performance coach, Coach Ivie has developed and implemented strength programs for football, soccer, basketball, gymnastics, volleyball, cheerleading, softball, and track and field programs, along with analyzing and executing performance based testing. He also had an opportunity to teach mathematics and coach football for a public high school in Columbia. New resident of Cleveland Heights, Clayton is ready to experience more of what Northeast Ohio has to offer. Clayton is most excited to join a community that has Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice initiatives at the forefront of its mission. He’s eager to learn from Coach Lew and all of the amazing faculty, staff, and students who immediately have made him feel right at home. Outside of coaching and training, Clayton really enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new fun activities like visiting museums, and reading books. And if you’re ever in our weight room and hear some solid R&B playlists on the speakers, you’ll know Coach Ivie is training that day!
